School Council
Our School Council is led by school councillors representing their class and overseen by Miss Ash. It aims to ensure that every child has a voice and feels that they can contribute to making Culverstone Green Primary School the caring, creative environment every child can be confident in. Every academic year, two pupils are elected by their classmates to represent their class on the school council.
The school council meets once a month to discuss any matters that are of interest or concern to the children and the school councillors are encouraged to set the agenda by consultation with their classmates.
Our Vision
The role of a school councillor involves being the voice of the school. To embrace the school values and reflect them every day. To be passionate to want to make the school an even better place and to have the confidence to challenge current ideas. We want to collaboratively work together with children, staff and parents to ensure all pupils are safe, healthy and happy at school.
The children who were elected to be their class representatives, by their peers, demonstrate many important attributes, such as:
- being a good listener,
- being able to talk to others,
- able to work as a team,
- have the resilience to see a task through to the end,
- and are aware of the current issues the school may need to improve on to make it even better.
Council Roles
The children then chose the roles they would like to focus on during their time as a school councillor, below is a list of the areas our councillers can choose from.
- Online Safety
- Healthy Schools
- School Community
- Pupil Voice
